Teachers' Outing

Teachers' Outing

A few days ago I went to Wanås Park with the other teachers for our annual excursion. I've never been to nor heard of Wanås before so I didn't really know what to expect. It's a park and there's a castle nearby and they have all kinds of art exhibitions and sculptures all around. It was actually really interesting and I enjoyed myself. There's more information available here: http://www.wanas.se/index.htm

This is some kinda sculpture in the woods. I think it was called "Mussla" or clam in English. A few of us got really excited and decided to see if we could climb on top of it of course. That's me in the corner with Veronica (who teaches German) helping another teacher to get up.

Atop the clam thingy.

This is another exhibition. And to be honest I didn't really get it at all. It's made of these glass blocks filled with dried leaves and stuff. Hmm...
Me, Sabine (German teacher) and Laurent (French) are discussing the significance of the leaves or something here.

Here we're standing behind this glass thingy which was placed right beside a pond. It's called "Two Different Anamorphic Surfaces" by Dan Graham.

This is a beautiful sculpture called "Gorgeous woman in blue resting on reclining chair". Haha nolah it was me fooling around and trying out these seats that we found in the middle of the forest. I think the exhibition's called "Solarium" .

Me posing in the chair and some other teachers (Weishu - Chinese and Deidre - English) checking me out. And that chair wasn't comfortable at all.

Ohh this statue was really intriguing and kinda gross too. It's of this woman who is squatting and has her pants halfway down her legs and guess what? She was peeing! Seriously! I thought the other teachers were joking at first when they told me but it was true! She had water coming out from between her legs. I stood there for quite a bit with Sabine to try and figure out how they did that. We came to the conclusion that they must have put up a water pipe or something from her feet. Really weird. Who would come up with such an idea?

And here's a group photo. There were more of us but we were split up into many different groups.

After walking in the park we had a picnic which was really nice. We ate fresh strawberries and cold cuts and salmon pate with freshly baked bread and all kinds of other stuff. Really yummy.
